An industrial visit to remember –Students from PSG College of Technology visit AgilizTech

University is like a sculptor’s studio, where students are modeled and chiseled, gaining professional knowledge. But the knowledge there is mostly theoretical. Sure, they know the ‘what’, but the ‘how’ is learnt in the real-world. It is in the industry that a newly minted professional puts their theories to test.

What today’s students need is a stepping stone as they crossover from being a student to a professional. As John Keats wisely said, “Nothing ever becomes real till it is experienced”. AgilizTech recognizes this a gap, and hence conducted a one-day industrial visit for the students of PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore, on February 4, 2019. With an aim to go beyond academics, this industrial visit provided students a practical perspective on the world of work, an opportunity to learn practically through interaction, and an exposure to current work practices.

A day of observation, interaction and learning

The event kick-started with a briefing on the nature and purpose of the visit. This included a short introduction on AgilizTech by Sujeeth Shetty, VP – Business Development, AgilizTech.

Next, V Ganesh Babu, MD and CEO narrated the AgilizTech journey, spoke about his experiences and touched upon today’s IT trends.

Following this, Anand Gangoor, Senior Technical Delivery Manager, AgilizTech, talked about the various teams that work together to develop a software application. He also explained the same with a practical example .

The students were divided into batches of 20 each. Each batch moved around the office for interacting with the various teams and understanding how they operate. While one batch was visiting the work area, the rest had an open Q&A session with  Anand and Sujeeth, clarifiying their doubts about how the industry operates and what it takes to plunge into entrepreneurship.

To propel students into thinking mode, a Logical Puzzle solving contest was handled by Thomas Linson, Senior Software Engineer, AgilizTech. A fun way to learn more about IT, the students showed keen interest and actively solved the puzzles given to them.

During the visit, the students also visited our photo booth to capture memories of the visit.

Student Speak

The students were delighted with the visit. Here’s a brief feedback we received:

We had a great time at AgilizTech and the reason was most of the time it was an interactive session. We got an overall view regarding startups as well as the difficulties to be faced by an Engineer. The main thing we appreciate about AgilizTech was the way you encouraged the volunteers which boosted everyone’s confidence.

The effort you made for us was really unbelievable such as arranging refreshments and meeting halls , Social media photo frame etc. Finally, the entire team interacted with us with no hesitation and with full enthusiasm. Students completely enjoyed the game you organized for them. Faculties were satisfied with the Group Discussion session which helped everyone explore and exchange views. Thanks for the entire team for your work and making our visit a memorable experience.

A visit to remember and ponder on

According to recent surveys, one of the biggest causes of concern across industries has been the skill-gap prevailing across our country. Conducting such industrial visits offers students the opportunity to learn more about the industry and sharpen their skill sets accordingly.

We were happy to help ignite young minds by giving more exposure into the real world of Information Technology, and we would be glad to conduct many more such events.

A helping hand to god’s own land -AgilizTech contributes to Kerala Flood Relief

The recent floods in Kerala have caused widespread devastation, with hundreds of people missing and thousands displaced. As an organization that strongly believes in one’s responsibility to the society, AgilizTech decided to help those in need by contributing to the Kerala flood relief measures.

AgilizTech raised funds for this cause, to which employees also contributed. These funds were used to buy medicines, food items such as biscuits, rusks, ready-to-eat foods, and other essentials and toiletries such as toothpaste, brush and soaps. The relief material was collected, packed and dispatched last week by our staff to their contact in Kerala.

Kerala Flood Relief

We hope more and more people step forward to help the disaster struck state and help the affected overcome their distress. Every little bit helps!

Special thanks to our employees – Karan, Balveer and Thomas for assisting with the collection and dispatch and spearheading the Kerala Flood Relief initiative on behalf of the entire team.

Does your customer bake cakes to celebrate your win? Ours did!

All sorts of prose and literature are available on customer relationship management. But often, what binds and strengthens the relationship between a business and its customer is the experience imparted. A commitment to put the customer’s needs and requirements at the forefront of all efforts. And when the business gets it right, customers consider themselves as partners, a fellow of the inner circle, a member of the family. They share the joys and sorrows and become pillars of strength to the business, in times merry and morose.
And while it feels great to receive accolades from the industry, it feels extra special when our customers applaud our wins!
When we excitedly announced our win at the Small Enterprise Business Awards 2016 event, our customer community reverberated with cheers and congratulations. And our customer, Whitecaps International School of Pastry, made our victory sweeter by toasting us with an assortment of delicious Raspberry Pastries and divine chocolates.
Whitecaps customer

We were exhilarated when we won the awards. And now we stand overjoyed at the fact that, we have won not just awards, but also our customers’ hearts. Our many thanks to Whitecaps International School of Pastry, for their constant support and encouragement in all our endeavors, and of course the delectable desserts! We stand committed to our mission of helping businesses respond with agility and provide superior customer experience. This is just the beginning and these are tiny steps on our march to scale the summits we have marked.

Women in Tech: Celebrating womanhood at AgilizTech

A daughter, a sister, a mother,

A partner, a friend, a co-worker.

A ray of sunshine that dispels gloom,

She’s a thousand myriad emotions in bloom.

Her strength and vigor are incomparable,

The jugglery of hearth and work a feat!

She makes the mundane magical,

With charm and wisdom, replete.

It is oft quoted that “Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned”. At AgilizTech, we put a spin on this popular quote with “Heaven hath no fairy like a woman appreciated”. On 08 Mar 2017, the AgilizTech family celebrated the International Women’s day with great gusto. The team came together to rejoice the spirit of womanhood and acknowledged the contributions of the women employees in the organization.

Guess who?

A small game was organized by the AgilizTech Fun Committee to add the humor element in the event. Insightful gifts were presented to the ladies, after a small game of “Guess who?” The recipient’s name had to be guessed as the Fun Committee members acted out their personality quirks. It was a laughter riot! In the end the women employees expressed their gratitude for hosting the game and the well-thought out gifts.

AgilizTech greets Mr Madhavan from THRiver Consulting, Australia

A customer visit is always looked forward to at AgilizTech. For a company with the core philosophy of ‘Customer Experience’, what can be a greater joy than having a customer visit and share his experience of working with us?

On 27 Dec, Mr Madhavan of THRiver Consulting, an Australian organization with a firm focus on Technology, Health and Research and vision to make the world a better place to live in, visited our premises. He met the team, shared his feedback and appreciated us, on the mobile apps that AgilizTech had worked on and successfully delivered.

What followed was an interesting, interactive session with Ganesh, CEO & MD, AgilizTech, and the project team – Mobile App Development Team, consisting of Prabu, Mayan, Asif and Pooja, UI/UX Designer Shubham, and Karan and Nikitha from the QA team.

Also, Mr Madhavan met Sujeeth, VP – Business Development and discussed a slew of new, exciting projects in the mobile app development space. We are thrilled and raring to go on the new projects.

It was a pleasure to have Mr Madhavan with us. We enjoyed getting to know THRiver consulting better, and truly believe that this will continue into a long association with AgilizTech.

AgilizTech stirs a ‘racquet’ with the Passion League App

Techies by weekdays and racqueteers by weekends, that’s the Agilians for you! With our innate zeal for sports and passion for technology, we decided to combine the two and develop the best-ever app for sports management, Passion League. The journey flagged off last month and on Sunday, 18 Dec, we were able to put our web app to a pilot test, at the Bangalore Racqueteers tournament. The event was hosted by CoachDirect at Gopalan Sports Centre, Bangalore.

We decided that this was a prime opportunity to test our app in the real world, capture real-time data and get solid feedback from the tournament participants. And so, on Sunday, the AgilizTech team visited the arena armed with racquets, determination and, of course, the Passion League App.

Coach Direct had provided us with player information and seeding details previously, so we were set up pretty well to watch the action and quickly feed in the wins and losses. With our web app, the players could see the scores and the opponents’ details, right on their mobile screens.

Also, we gathered copious feedback.

While the participants were thrilled with our app, they suggested quite a few enhancements. We took extensive notes and will be working on them to improve our app, thus helping sportspersons manage their activities better with the PassionLeague app.

Our team had a great time at the court too. Agilians participated in large numbers at the Table Tennis and Badminton events. We made it to Round 2, but unfortunately couldn’t progress further. Nevertheless, what mattered is that we participated, learnt and had a whale of a time!

The A Team!

The A Team!

And you know what? We would love to meet you at the court. Game for a challenging duel of table tennis or badminton? Meet the Agilians in the next tournament then! You can find the details of all the upcoming tournaments here – http://passionleague.in/
